Despite the best efforts of sex educators like Betty Dodson, stores like Babeland and Good Vibrations, and brands like, well, us, the taboo around female sexual pleasure still lurks in American culture. Sure, there was the feminist revolution, Our Bodies, Ourselves, these definitely helped to bring the female orgasm out of the closet. The nineties brought Sex and the City, which helped to open up the conversation even further. But still, how often do women talk casually with their friends about the last time they masturbated?
Our opinion – not as frequently as they should. Of course, everyone’s sexuality is their own private business. However, the more that women discuss what’s out there – techniques, vibrator options, new ideas – the more they can be inspired (rather than embarrassed) to explore their own range of sexual pleasure. …Read more. >

We’ve always been big fans of sex columnist Dan Savage and his no-nonsense style when it comes to doling out the advice on everything from relationships to masturbation to bestiality. His open and honest approach is both refreshing and, at times, hilarious.
We were especially pleased with the advice he gave out last week in his Savage Love column in The Stranger.
A 20-year-old woman wrote to him explaining that she’d been with the same guy for five years and she’d never had an orgasm until she finally tried using a vibrator. However, she is scared to tell her boyfriend about the purchase (and its success).
Dan’s advice –
Tell your boyfriend you bought a vibrator. …Read more. >

We’re excited to report that last week’s premiere of “Miss Advised” on Bravo did not disappoint. The reality show features friend of Jimmyjane, Emily Morse (of Sex With Emily), along with two other relationship experts, and proves that being a sex expert, does not make you a pro at your own love life. It’s easier to give the advice than to follow it.
The entertaining first episode included scenes from the launch party that Jimmyjane threw for Emily’s new book, “Hot Sex.” It also included some heart-to-hearts between Emily and her brother, covering topics from monogamy, to codependency, to cock rings. It’s always an adventure in the Morse family, it would seem.
Download the first episode for free on iTunes and catch the second episode tonight on Bravo.

According to Business Insider, they’ve gained 5 Million Users, sold 1.8 million items, acquired their third startup (Llustre), and launched in the UK.
Those are quite a few accomplishments for a one-year-old.
So out of all 1.8 million items, what has been flying off Fab.com’s virtual shelves the fastest? “A vibrator,” announced cofounders Jason Goldberg and Bradford Shellhammer earlier this week at Le Web London. But not just any vibrator, a FORM from Jimmyjane.
Jimmyjane and Fab. It’s a match made in heaven. Watch the Le Web London interview (vibrators mentioned at 16:43).

It’s both endearing and disturbing. Jon Stewart, the eloquent host of The Daily Show, can’t bring himself to say “orgasm” during his recent interview with Maggie Gyllenhaal about her new movie, Hysteria.
This popular Comedy Central host—who interviews everyone from movie stars, to foreign diplomats, to presidents, without an errant word—can’t even form a full sentence when it comes to discussing female sexuality and vibrators. Like a nervous adolescent, Jon giggles his way through awkward references, from the Incredible Hulk to Tinker Bell.
However, we can’t help but appreciate his initial joke about the setting of the film – Victorian England, an era in which “Men made the decisions about women’s health without the knowledge or the emotional ability.”

Jimmyjane has made an impression on Austria in more ways than one. Of course, the Austrians love FORM Vibrators for their power to please. But now, the Viennese are appreciating our powerful line of pleasure products in a new way – as art.
These practical objets d’arts are currently on exhibit in the MAK, Vienna’s museum of applied and contemporary art. Jimmyjane is featured alongside other design-centric brands from around the world, including Apple, Jawbone, and more.
From the MAK website – Founded in 1863 as the Austrian Museum for Art and Industry, the MAK works toward the sustainable improvement of the interaction between art and commerce.”

Sound and power go hand in hand.
When we design our vibrators, our challenge is to get the most power with the least sound. Obviously, most people prefer their vibrators quiet, so as not to ruin the mood (or alert your neighbors of your activities), which is why we have a line of vibrators that are nearly silent.
However, Swiss artist Zimoun, uses motors, similar to the ones found inside Jimmyjane vibrators, to play with sound. It is not the motors themselves that make sound, but the objects to which they are attached.
Have a look at some of his Sculpting Sound work. Try closing your eyes while listening – what do you envision?

Jimmyjane hosted a screening of Hysteria on May 22nd at San Francisco’s Opera Plaza Landmark Cinema. The exclusive screening was followed be a Q&A with director Tanya Wexler. Afterward, the crowd headed to Jardiniere in Hayes Valley.= for celebratory drinks and general merriment.
The San Francisco Chronicle points out that the film “brings up an aspect of 19th century social history that few people know about, one that is more than just interesting or absurd or titillating, but rather illuminating of an entire era’s self-delusion.”
We’d like to add that it’s also laugh-outloud funny.
Read more of what what the press has to say about Hysteria. Then, do yourself a favor and go see it in the theater. It just might be the climax of your weekend.

Has the world not seen enough celebrity sex tapes and nude photos? Every other day, a new blowjob video or a pixilated snapshot of an errant breast is leaked to the Internet. According to Wired Science, this desire to share skin has less to do with fame, and more to do with neuroscience.
Being admired is a turn on for women. From Wired – “Studies have found that more than half of women’s sexual fantasies reflect the desire to be sexually irresistible.” What turns men on? Naked bodies. Sounds like a perfect combo.
No woman wants to be objectified or seen purely for her body. However, the college co-eds in Girls Gone Wild seem more eager to expose their breasts than their brains. (Or perhaps those racy shots of girls flaunting their intelligence and good judgment were left on the cutting room floor.) …Read more. >
