We've put together a few tips and tricks to help you look your best, whether you want to send a few jpegs to an out-of-town lover, or you're creating your own personal photo book as a holiday gift (Note: not an appropriate gift for a coworker or relative).
Good friends deserve the gift of love too, be it self-love if they're single, or safe-love if they're out and about. If, for example, a particular friend is bemoaning the lack of lasciviousness in her life, then either THE NIGHT OFF or THE REBOUND pleasure sets could offer just the pick-me-up she needs. Or, if you have a single friend who often travels for business (and tends to have adventures along the way), a few ESSENTIALS Pocket Pleasure Sets for safer sex on-the-go would be a prudent choice. Of course, it's important to follow certain guidelines in order to avoid awkwardness, embarrassment, confusion… or a toxic cocktail of all three.Your friend may be a viable sexy-gift-recipient, IF –

As an avid Jimmyjane blog reader, you're probably able to locate a clitoris – perhaps even your own. But what about America's high school students? According to a recent article in the New York Times, that's just the tip of the iceberg of what they aren't learning. In the vast majority of schools across the country, sex education falls on the limited spectrum between an "abstinence-until-marriage" approach and an "STD-prevention" one. Accordingly, many teenagers are getting their information (and misinformation) from online porn and other unreliable sources, leaving them unprepared for the emotional complications that come with sex, unpracticed in the open communication necessary for healthy relationships, and unaware of the subtleties of sexual pleasure. To quote one of the male high school students interviewed in the article – "I think I sort of knew where the clitoris was, but I didn't know it was, like, under something." The article, "Teaching Good Sex," presents Sexuality and Society, a course taught by Al Vernacchio – a particularly skilled and beloved teacher at the Friends' Central School in Philadelphia – as a progressive counterpoint to the much more limited education available to most of our adolescents. It's certainly thought provoking, and leads us to wonder – Where would you want your own children's education to lie on this broader spectrum from "abstinence-until-marriage" to "Sexuality and Society"?
Diamonds can be anyone's best friend (or bedfellow), whether they're hanging on a necklace or embedded in an Everlasting Vibrator. Of course, for most of us, times are still tough – and if money can't buy you love, it certainly can't buy you genuine, unbridled passion. Fear not, there's no need to dedicate a month's pay to any gift, provocative or otherwise. You can opt for an aphrodisiac Massage Oil Candle, a body-safe Vibrating Ring, a discreet Bullet, or even some high-design, high-end condoms – all are under $35.For an additional twist, consider a D.I.Y. element – write up an IOU for a full-hour body massage, knit a colorful cozy for a beloved sex accessory, or offer an opportunity to try that thing they've always been curious about. (E.g, if spanking is their secret fantasy, wrap up a ping pong paddle with an explanatory note – written in your best cursive, of course.) Any of these options still serve the higher purpose of a suggestive gift – to introduce new provocative possibilities – and they do so at a fraction of the cost. Which bring us to Eternal Truth #73 – a gift from the heart is more valuable than one that lightened the wallet. Cliché though it may be, it really is the thought that counts. Looking for more ideas? It's that time of year again, when the weather grows colder and we get a little closer to the ones we love. It’s a season to reconnect, to celebrate, to show our gratitude and, of course, to mediate the inevitable family feuds. Often, the time-honored tradition of exchanging presents plays a significant role in all of these activities. Of course, this puts a lot of pressure on us to “give good gift” – especially to our spouses, lovers or significant others. A parent or coworker will readily forgive a utilitarian gift (wool socks, hot water bottle, replacement gas cap), but a lover? Not likely. While there’s no one-size-fits-all formula for the perfect present (and particularly not in the realm of sexy ones), the best gifts, whether naughty or nice, will generally be – 1. Useful – What's the point of a gift it just sits in a drawer gathering dust, soon forgotten? A great gift will serve a purpose, be it aesthetic, productive or pleasurable. 2. Personal – One person's tchotchke is another's treasure. The better suited a gift is to its recipient, the better that gift will be received. One that says "I know the real you" is the epitome of thoughtfulness. 3. Elegant – Even a carrot peeler can be elegant, so long as it’s well designed, well made, and feels good in your hand. It's not a matter of price or of superficial styling – it's an unquantifiable combination of intelligence, construction and charm. The good news is, you’ll know when you feel it. 4. Unexpected – Unique, unusual or over the top – if it's something the recipient would love but probably wouldn't justify splurging on for themselves, you’re on the right track. Looking for more ideas?
