The Wow Factor (Part 2)

by Jimmyjane |

As we discussed a couple weeks ago, the landscape of vibrator design is constantly changing and improving, like a caterpillar turning to a beautiful, electronic, pleasure-inducing butterfly.

So what does that mean for you, the savvy customer? It means that while it’s easier to find high-quality, well-designed vibrators, it’s harder to decide which one is best for you. Here are three places to start your quest for the perfect sex accessory – power, durability and “wow.”

Power – For many, more power means more pleasure. The intensity of a vibrator depends on the type, quality and quantity of motors, and the power source that drives them. As you’ve likely noticed, the market has changed dramatically in the intervening years.

The good news is that many vibrators have become more powerful, more durable, and more effective. They’ve evolved from battery-devouring appliances into innovative, efficient companions that are easier on our planet and your wallet. » Read more. »

Heads or Tails

by Jimmyjane |

Cash, credit, or… sex coin? A small bronze disc depicting a man and a woman having sex was found on the banks of the river Thames last month. This small, pornographic currency had been sitting in the mud near Putney Bridge in West London since the days of Roman Londonium, nearly 2000 years ago.

Back in those days, a visit to the whorehouse cost about a day’s pay, or 14 small Roman coins, called asses. Surprisingly, it was not the “ass” coins that got Roman laborers laid. Instead they would trade in their hard-earned asses for a brothel token, which could be redeemed for the act shown on the token at their favorite brothel.

But these tokens led to more than some fun for a Roman laborer. According to the Guardian’s Art Blogger, Jonathan Jones, the explicit engravings had a serious influence on the birth of pornography » Read more. »
